MEP: As a result of the explosion of a remote-controlled mine inside a market in Almar district of northern Faryab province, 17 people including two policemen were killed and wounded.
Faryab police spokesman Karim Youresh told the Middle East Press, the attack occurred at 5:00 pm on Saturday.
He said the embedded mine of armed Taliban exploded when civilians were buying their requirements in the market.
Target of the attack was security forces, with the result that a policeman was killed and 16 others are all civilians, were wounded, he added.
According to Mr Youresh, the wounded has been shifted to Maimana hospital. Three of them are in critical condition.
Though Faryab police spokesman accused the armed Taliban for the attack but the group did not yet comment on the report.
