President Ghani Appoints Omar Zakhilwal As New Afghan Ambassador To Pakistan
KABUL: (MEP) Omar Zakhilwal, former finance minister and chief economic adviser of President Ghani was appointed as the new Ambassador of Afghanistan to Pakistan.
A statement released by Presidential Palace states, President Ashraf Ghani announced Zakhilwal as the new ambassador to Islamabad by issuing a decree on Tuesday.
“With regard to relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan – and create of an atmosphere of trust between the two nations, I appoint Zakhilwal as the president’s Special Representative in abroad post and the most gracious ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.” Ghani noted.
It is worth mentioning that Janan Mousa was the Afghan ambassador to Pakistan before.
