President Ghani to Visit India

KABUL: (Middle East Press) President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai and Narendra Modi had a phone conversation on Wednesday that Modi has invited President Ghani to visit India.

A statement released by the Indian Prime Minister’s Office, said the two leaders discussed issues of mutual interest following a telephone conversation.

The statement further added that Modi congratulated President Ghani on his election to office and lauded his wisdom and statesmanship, and his ‘commitment to unity, peace and development in Afghanistan.

Modi quoted in the statement said President Ghani’s expertise, global experience and grassroots knowledge, borne out of travel to every district of Afghanistan, will help him implement his bold agenda of economic reforms and progress in Afghanistan.

He called President Ghani’s experience will be beneficial for India and reaffirmed New Delhi’s commitment to stand with him, as a friend and a partner, at every step, as his government moves forward in its efforts to build a strong, steady, diplomatic, independent, inclusive and wealthy nation.

In the meantime, President Ghani described India as the foundation of Afghanistan’s diplomacy and economic strategy. Ghani complimented Modi on his electoral success and his progress vision.
