KABUL: (MEP) – Six Presidential candidates are now ready to take their complaints to the Supreme Court today.
Gul Agha Sherzai said, “Five other Presidential candidates and I are ready to take our complaints to Supreme Court today.” They claim there were numerous instances of fraud on the Election Day.”
Sherzai had received 1.6 percent of the votes cast and occupies the sixth position among the eleven contenders.
Gul Agha declared that the Election was marred by fraud and demanded that the IEC and the Government bring to book those who were involved.
Tensions are on the rise as talk of a second round of elections increases.
The IEC officials are believed to be holding a joint session with Afghan Security Forces to ensure that they are ready to provide necessary security in the event of a second round of elections.
Presidential contender, Daud Sultanzoy, is also said to support a second round of elections being held.
There is a keen sense of anticipation as the IEC is said to be expected to release the preliminary results for the Presidential election today, Saturday.
