Private Sector demands additional Government support

KABUL: (MEP) – Not receiving necessary support from the Government for the past 13 years has hindered domestic production and affected the economy, feel business experts.

A number of Afghan businessmen have commented that they have not received sufficient support from the Government to allow them the scope of development and growth as compared to some of the neighboring economies.

Officials in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry have rejected these claims saying they had provided all required support to the private sector.

The Afghan businessmen further claimed that the government had lost a lot of opportunities to grow its economy.

They also said that corruption, poor infrastructure, inability to utilize natural resources and the lack of a national economy development board were some of the issues plaguing the government and accountable for its failure.
