Protesting candidates accused IEC of injustice

KABUL: (MEP) – The presidential election candidates that were removed from the initial list of contenders once again blamed the election commission of not dealing with them in a just and fair manner.

The electoral complaint commission continues probe into cases of more than a hundred candidates that were removed from the initial list of contenders by the election commission, ariana news reported.

IECC promised the removed candidates that they would perform a more detailed review.

IECC studies results have not been clear so far but some of the removed candidates accused IEC of injustice and of conducting character assassination.

Hameedullah Farooqi, one of the protesting candidates, said, “We once again want to present our protest to the IEC and show the people that we are pursuing this issue and finally we want the IEC to revise its decision.”

Next Wednesday is the deadline for removed candidates who were eliminated from the initial list to express their reasons that they should be put onto the ballot before the IECC.
