Sectors Identified Where Child Labor Strictly Prohibited
KABUL: (MEP) – The Ministry of Labors, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled (MoLSAMD) have announced child labor is strictly banned in different sectors of the country.
All the government and non-government agencies operating in Afghanistan are obliged to implement the instruction.
Mining, begging, garbage collection, blast furnace, waste processing plants, large slaughterhouses, hospital waste, drug-related work, guarding and works related to war are the areas where the child labor are strictly prohibited.
“Working of children with these areas is unlawful and we know that we can’t implement it immediately,” said the minister Amena Afzali.
Meanwhile, the ministry launched awareness program over labor law in six different zones of the country.
“In most cases, unawareness about the law has caused child labor,” she added.
Based on the reports, a large number of children in Afghanistan grappled with economic problems are forced to work in the streets.
