The attack occurred at around 9:30am on Tuesday morning after a suicide attacker detonated his explosives in a crowded area leaving 28 people dead and wounded.
According to security officials, the dead and wounded have been taken to the central hospital in Charikar.
One policeman is among the dead in the explosion.
No group has so far claimed responsivity behind the attack.
