Suicide Attack Plots Thwarted in Farah

KABUL: (Middle East Press) The Afghan intelligence operatives thwarted two separate suicide bombing plots in western Farah province.

National Directorate of Security (NDS) said Monday that a suicide bomber along with three others who were plotting attack in Farah province, were arrested by Afghan intelligence operatives before they try to carry out the attacks.

NDS following a statement said a suicide bomber, identified as Mohammad was arrested before he manage to carry out attack on Farah provincial police department.

The statement further added that a suicide bombing vest was also confiscated from the detained bomber, who has confessed that he received terrorist attack trainings in a Madrasa in Quetta city of Pakistan.

Three others who were plotting a separate attack in Farah province were arrested in a separate operation by Afghan intelligence operatives, NDS said, adding that the three suicide attack organizers were arrested along with a motorcycle packed with explosives.

According to NDS, the suicide attack organizers were looking to use the motorcycle for the suicide attack.

NDS said the seized insurgents have confessed that they were involved in murdering of a Mullah Imam, a judge and district chief of Gulistan.
