Taliban Attack Afghan Force station in Paktia
KABUL: (Middle East Press) local officials said a group of Taliban militants attacked an Afghan force station in eastern Paktia province early Wednesday and started clashes with the forces.
According to local officials, three policemen have been injured and 10 Taliban militants were killed.
The attack took place at around 4:30 a.m. in Zurmat district of the province when more than 16 Taliban militants attacked the military station and began shelling with the forces, said provincial Police Chief Zalmai Oriakhail.
“The clash continued for three hours,” Oriakhail explained. “Ten Taliban insurgents have been killed and nine others injured and three security personnel were wounded in the fight.”
The fatalities have been transferred to a nearby hospital.
The Taliban groups have not commented regarding the attack so far.
