Taliban Kidnapped 11 Deminers In Ghazni
KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least 11 deminers have been kidnapped by Taliban militants in southeastern Ghazni province, local officials said.
The deminers were abducted by Taliban insurgents while they were on their way from southern Kandahar province to capital Kabul.
Provincial governor spokesman, Shafiq Nang Sapi, said the deminers were abducted by Taliban militants on Friday from Qarabagh district of Ghazni province.
Sapi said it is not yet clear to which demining organization the deminers were working for.
The Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the report so far.
Ghazni is among the unstable provinces in southeastern Afghanistan where Taliban militants are actively operating in its various districts.
