Unknown Gunmen kidnap Takhar education directorate chief
KABUL: (MEP) – According to local authorities in north Takhar province of Afghanistan, unknown gunmen have kidnapped head of the provincial education directorate.
Provincial governor spokesman, Sunatullah Temor confirming the report said Najbullah Kamran has been missing during the past two days, and there are no reports regarding his whereabouts.
Mr. Temor further added that Mr. Kamran has apparently been abducted by unknown gunmen.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the abduction of Najibullah Kamran.
Militants are frequently targeting education officials in various provinces of Afghanistan. Unknown gunmen killed district education officer in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan late in August this year.
Education ministry officials also expressed concerns regarding the casualties of education employees and administrators in Afghanistan and said around 100 of them have been killed since the beginning of the year.
The officials blamed anti-government armed militant groups for creating fears and terror among the students, teachers and education officials by kidnapping and killing education officials.
