Upcoming election crucial: NATO Secretary General
KABUL: (MEP) – Andres Fogh Rasmussen, NATO Secretary General believes the upcoming Presidential election is important for Afghanistan and said the new President should also consider the Afghan people’s demands.
Andres Fogh Rasmussen urged the people of Afghanistan to go to the polls and help shape their destiny. He also added that the upcoming Presidential election was a key to the future of Afghanistan.
US Department of State and ISAF headquarters in Kabul are also said to consider the upcoming election crucial for Afghanistan.
ISAF spokesman in Kabul said, “Despite security threats in Afghanistan, the participation of Afghan people in the election is reassuring.”
America is not forcing Afghanistan to sign the security agreement but if the signing keeps getting delayed, challenges for the planning and execution of new missions will be further magnified.
