KABUL: (MEP) – A number of Afghan and American investors in Washington City of America have demanded both the sides to the ink the bilateral security agreement.
At the ninth annual meeting of US-Afghan chamber of commerce in Washington, the participants warned the economic gains in Afghanistan could be lost if the security treaty not signed.
At the three day meeting, the US and Afghan traders exchanged views on transport, mining, agriculture, communications, electricity and road construction sectors.
Calling for immediate signing of BSA, the participants said the security accord would guarantee the economic growth in Afghanistan, Ariana news reported.
“BSA is very important, especially for the American firms that are willing to invest in Afghanistan. Definitely, this agreement will be very useful for the investors in Afghanistan,” said Suleiman Lutfi, chairman of joint Afghan-America chamber of commerce and industries.
Also present at the event, the representative of Afghan Wireless Communication Company (AWCC) said the company has had large investment in Afghanistan, especially in the field of telecommunication.
Alberto Lopez said, “I am here in this conference talking about mobile money, and empowering women through finance, education and capacity building. We also discussed on entrepreneurship for young women in Afghanistan.”
