He stressed that one of the important issues is building of the press culture that is forming the main activity of the ministry an institution that is at the service of the society and it has a great responsibility before the people.
Gender or activation of women in social fields, is a valuable issue that has to be addressed.
Here we should start from doing away with oppression towards women, provision of concessions to the women in society, however, we have serious problems in this respect including poverty, illiteracy and insecurity for this reason very less attention is made towards women. However, the status of women in Afghanistan is intolerable and the press can reflect these issues and the role of the ministry’s gender is outstanding here.
He emphasized that the ministry of information and culture should design and implement programs more than any other foundations regard to the insurance of women’s right in the community.
The workshop was organized by the UNDP in which 40 employees of the ministry had taken part and in addition to the deputy minister of information and culture, UNDP representative, Najiba Maram deputy editor of the Kabul Times and Mahbuba Sadat head of gender of the ministry also talked at the workshop and voiced their views on upgrading and growth of gender.
