Zabul Attack Injures 74 People
KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least 74 people have been seriously injured in a suicide attack in Zabul province, according to media reports.
The incident took place on Monday after a suicide attacker riding in an explosives-laden truck carried out a huge explosion in front of the front gate of the compound of provincial council around 11:00 AM Monday morning, said Haji Ata Jan Haqbayan, head of the provincial council of Zabul province.
According to hospital sources, the victims included children and women when they have received 74 people injured and five of them are reported to be in critical condition.
Asadullah Kakar, Haji Dur Mohammad, Fawzia Younasi and Zar bibi members of the Provincial Council are among the victims.
Media center of Zabul province and adjourning compounds have also received severe damages in attack.
Taliban group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
