15 Saudi Soldiers Killed, 40 Wounded In Fight With Yemeni Forces
MEP: Deadly clashes between Saudi forces and Yemeni military troops backed by Houthi Ansarullah fighters occurred on Wednesday in which 15 Saudi troops were killed and some 40 others wounded.
According to reports, the fighting took place in Saudi Arabia’s southwestern region of Jizan after the Kingdom’s army launched an offensive against Yemen.
The Yemeni forces also launched artillery attacks on the Saudi bases in the region and destroyed a Saudi military vehicle.
Tensions between Saudi Arabia and Yemen started since March 2015, when the kingdom launched its campaign to crush Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement and their allies and reinstate the resigned president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh. More than 10,000 people have been killed in the war.
