19 Taliban fighters killed, 2 others injured in Nangarhar province

KABUL: (MEP) – At least 21 Taliban fighters were killed or injured following a military operation in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

Interior ministry of Afghanistan following a statement said the operation was conducted by Afghan national police and Afghan national army soldiers in Shirzad district.

The statement further added that 19 Taliban militants were killed and 2 others were injured during the operation.

Interior ministry said the operations were launched on Tuesday morning to clear the area from the militant’s activities.

Afghan national police and Afghan national army soldiers did not suffer any casualties during the military operation, interior ministry added.

Afghan security forces also discovered and seized several weapons, ammunition and explosives during the military operation.

The Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the report so far.
