3 Civilians killed by mine blast in Kandahar

KABUL: (MEP) – Three people including a woman were killed and another suffered slight injuries when a roadside mine went off in southern province of Kandahar, an official said Tuesday.

The mine was allegedly planted by the armed rebels in an area in Maiwand district of the province, where two men and one woman were killed and another wounded, said provincial governor spokesman, Jawid Faisal in a statement.

The wounded was evacuated to the provincial hospital, where an on-duty doctor said his condition was stable.

However the Taliban had not still commented on the incident nor claimed responsibility but, the local officials blamed the rebels of usually planting roadside mines and bombs, the victims of which are mostly civilians.
