3 Local Commanders Among 19 Militants Killed In Farah

KABUL: (MEP) – At least 19 armed militants were killed and 10 others were wounded during joint raid of ISAF and Afghan troops conducted in western province of Farah.

The operations were carried out in two districts of Khaksafid and Poshtrod in which three local Taliban commanders were also killed, according to Farah security authorities.

Afghan National Army (ANA) spokesman in Farah, Abdul Raouf Rahmani, said the purpose of the operations were to let the inhabitants of these district participate in the upcoming elections without any fear of insurgents.

“Mullah Ibrahim, Noor Ahmad and Dawood are the three local Taliban commanders that are among the killed militants during our operations,” ANA spokesman told Ariana News.

He added some weapons and ammunition of the armed oppositions were also seized during the raid ended yesterday.
