5 Dead, Including Pregnant Woman, In US South Alabama Homicide
MEP: At least five people were found dead on Saturday afternoon inside a Citronelle home near Mobile, Ala, after a survivor and her baby escaped the bloodbath and went to police, authorities say.
Authorities found the bodies of five people, including a 5-months pregnant woman, inside a home on Jim Platt Road in Citronelle, Mobile County.
Mobile County District Attorney Ashley Rich said a 911 caller warned that a trespasser identified as Derrick Ryan Dearman was at the Jim Platt Road property at around midnight Friday, the Daily News reported.
“We have a horrible scene here,” Rich added.
“I’ve been an assistant district attorney and now the elected DA, for six years, in total a 20-year career as a prosecutor, and I have never seen a scene where there were five people brutally and viciously murdered. That’s what we have here.”
The motive behind the slayings hasn’t been released.
