KABUL: (MEP) 61 contracts worth of AFG 3,470,000,000 has been approved by The National Procurement Commission (NPC) on Tuesday, a statement by the Presidential Palace “ARG” said.
This year, NPC has saved more than AFG9 billion in comparison to the previous years, according to the statement.
“The conference was chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and attended by second Vic-President Mohammad Sarwar Danish, Minister of Finance Eklil Hakimi, Minister of Justice Abdul Basir Anwar and Minister of Economy Abdul Sattar Murad”. The statement added.
Most of these contracts belong to the Ministry of Defense and in five contracts 101 million Afghanis were saved.
President Ghani said that an independent commission would investigate the accusations made against high-ranking government officials based on a clear mechanism in order to have more transparency and accountability.
He said that NPC has been implementing full transparency in procurement and more efforts would be made in this regard.
