65 killed, wounded in Lashkargah car bombing

At least 15 people have lost their lives and 50 others wounded in a car bomb explosion hit near the New Kabul Bank branch in Lashkargah, capital of Helmand province on Thursday, local officials said.

The blast occurred at 11:50 am when a suicide bomber blew up explosives embedded in his car among the clients of the Kabul Bank.

Helmand governor spokesman Omar Zawak told the Middle East Press that an hour after the attack, 15 people, including civilians and military personnel, have been killed and more than 50 others have been wounded.

He said that the injured were transferred to Lashkargah hospitals.

Meanwhile, Najib Danesh, head of the interior ministry spokeswoman’s office on his Facebook page, confirmed that a suicide attack occurred among clients of the New Kabul Bank in the city of Lashkargah.

No group claimed responsibility behind the attack so far.
