5 Civilians Injured in Helmand
KABUL: (MEP) – Local Helmand officials said on Tuesday that five civilians were injured in a bomb blast in Lashkargah, the capital of the province, tolo reported.
“The incident took place at around 8 am in the Bulan area of Lashkargah, when a bomb, which was placed in a motorbike exploded at a market place,” said Omar Zwak, spokesman of the Provincial Governor.
“The target was a police vehicle that was patrolling the area, but no police officers were hurt in the blast. All the victims were civilians,” Mr. Zwak added.
The victims have been rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, no details were offered regarding their condition.
The police have started investigating the attack. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
