149 Taliban Insurgents Killed, Injured During Afghan Operations

KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least 80 Taliban insurgents including their local leaders were killed, 69 others were wounded and 4 others have been detained following counter-terrorism operations in the past 24 hours.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI), following a statement said Monday that the militants were killed in Nangarhar, Parwan, Takhar, Badakhshan, SAr-e-Pul, Kandahar, Helmand, Nuristan, Kunduz, Kapisa and Paktika provinces.

The statement further added Afghan national army, Afghan national police and Afghan intelligence – national directorate of security (NDS) operatives jointly conducted the operations.

According to Mol, the majority of the Taliban militants were killed during operations in Paktika province yesterday.

The statement by MoI also added that Afghan security forces seized various types of weapons, ammunition and explosives during the operations.

Afghan police forces also neutralized four improvised explosive device (IED) during operations in Zabul, Logar and Parwan provinces, MoI said.

The Taliban insurgents group has not commented regarding the report yet.
