Prisoners Riot In Jowzjan Prison
KABUL: (Middle East Press) Latest reports from Sheberghan Capital of Jowjzan in the north suggest that the prisoners of the central prison of the province have come to fight with security forces.
Local officials confirmed that at least one has been killed and one was wounded in the clashes with security forces.
Some dangerous Taliban prisoners that were incarcerated in detention Jowzjan, recently to continue their imprisonment were transferred to the prison in Kabul.
About 700 detainees are currently being held in the detention center Jowzjan.
Some reports indicate that clashes between security forces and prisoners continue and local authorities are trying to curb the insurgency.
The incident occurred today while 20 Taliban prisoners were about to transfer to Kabul.
