MOI: 123 Taliban Insurgents Killed in Afghan Operations
KABUL: (Middle East Press) According to Ministry of Interior (MoI) over 120 Taliban insurgents were killed following afghan military operations in various provinces of Afghanistan in the past 24 hours.
MoI said following a statement, “the operations were conducted by Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army and NDS to clean some of the areas from terrorists and enemies of peace and stability of Afghanistan.”
The statement further added that the operations were carried out in Nangarhar, Takhar, Kunduz, Faryab, Kandahar, Zabul, Laghman, Parwan, Kapisa, Paktiya and Helmand provinces, as a result 123 Taliban militants were killed, 46 injured and one was arrested by Afghan National Security Forces.
Several local Taliban commanders named Mullah Sarajuddin, Mullah Mir, Mullah Mohammad, Abdul Wudod also known as Zarqawi and Siafuddin Kochi are among the dead, and Taliban suffered the heaviest casualty in Nangarhar, Kunduz and Helmand provinces, the statement said.
Afghan National Police discovered confiscated and defused light and heavy rounds ammunition and tens of IEDs during the operations.
