Ghani Strongly Condemns Terrorism in the Country
KABUL: (Middle East Press) Marking International Human Rights Day in Kabul on Saturday, President Ashraf Ghani said that terrorism is against Islam and humanity and for that reason the nation particularly religious scholars, civil society and human rights activists should loudly call “End to Terrorism”.
The president further said that those who want an insecured Afghanistan need to know that this can affect them as well, adding that peace is a need of the society and Afghans need to receive that.
“We will never surrender to terror,” Ghani said. “Peace is vital for each and every one of us. The acts of violence and terror are not tolerable. We criticize all and any kind of afflict.”
His comments follow the recent spates of attacks on Afghanistan, especially in Kabul, in the recent months, targeting the Afghan security forces, foreigners and civilian facilities.
Also, in regards to the latest violence against women, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said every citizen of Afghanistan should condemn the violence and cruel acts against their brothers and sisters and should fulfill their brotherly responsibility in preventing such acts.
During the speech, Ghani addressed the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC), stressing that the government and AIHRC must work together for a solution.
Ghani emphasized that the national unity government is a symbol of a unified country and that the nation must not suppose failure.
