KABUL: (MEP) A 3-year-old boy has accidentally shot his mother in the head in the United Sates, authorities say.
The incident took place on Saturday afternoon in a home in the Bailey’s Grove area in Kentwood, Sgt. Stephanie Morningstar told reporters.
Police and firefighters arrived at the scene after they received a report that a boy discharged a gun, striking his 26-year-old mother in the back of the head.
The woman was transported to Spectrum Health Butterworth hospital and she is expected to continue.
Officials, who were at the scene collecting evidence on Saturday, did not provide further details.
It is estimated that there are between 270 million and 300 million guns in the US, about one per person, according to the New York Daily News.
