Afghan, Iran Border Provinces’ Governors Stress On Expansion Of Ties
MEP: In a joint meeting of governors of Herat, Nimroz and Farah, with counterparts of Khorasan, South Khorasan and Sistan and Baluchestan of Iran, the expansion of ties between border provinces of the two countries was stressed.
The meeting was held on Monday hosted by the holy city of Mashhad, Iran, and the development and prosperity of economic and cultural relations between the two countries were on its agenda.
Governors of the six mentioned provinces have stressed on expanding foreign relations and good relations with neighbors, especially those with whom they share common language, culture and religion.
The governors also highlighted issues like political, cultural, economic, and security during the meeting.
The six provincial governors underlined the various capacities tourism, cultural, historical and economic factors as very important point in strengthening relations.
The Afghan and Iranian officials in the end expressed hope for the next meeting to be closer cooperation and capacity building for joint cooperation in various fields between the two sides.
