Afghan Police Kills 23 Rebels in Military Operations

2000px-ANP_logo_English.svgKABUL: (Middle East Press) Afghan National Army (ANA) and Afghan National Police (ANP) have jointly launched military and clearing operations in which at least 23 Taliban rebels were killed in the past 24 hours.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced Sunday that the operations were conducted in Nangarhar, Baghlan, Kundoz, Zabul, Uruzgan and Helmand provinces.

“23 Insurgents were killed, 16 others were wounded and one was detained during the operations”, MoI said following a statement.

The security forces have also confiscated a number of armament and weapons from the insurgents.

However, the statement did not provide details regarding the Afghan National Security Forces casualties.
