Afghan Policemen disappear During Training Visit in U.S.A
KABUL: (Middle East Press) two Afghan police officers have disappeared during a training visit in United States, reports say.
The two policemen – 22-year-old Mohammad Yasin Ataye and 24-year-old Mohammad Naweed Samimi were among the 31 Afghan police officers who are on a visit in United States to work with the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
ABC7 News reported, Rust Pain, DEA spokesman said the two policemen disappeared Georgetown to enjoy themselves.
This comes as a senior Afghan army officer claimed asylum upon arrival in United Kingdom to join in NATO Summit in south Wales.
ANA officer Enayatullah Barek was flag-bearer and was due to accompany Afghan army chief of staff Gen. Sher Mohammad Karimi in NATO summit in Wales.
This is not the first time that senior Afghan officials are seeking asylum during official trips outside the country, specifically in European countries.
Several security officials, government staff and representatives have not returned back to Afghanistan following their official tours.
