After 10 days, Taliban’s Fighting Ended in Kunar with Heavy Losses

KABUL: (Middle East Press) Abdul Habib Sayedkhil, police chief of Kunar said fighting in Kunar province has ended after ten days leaving at least 151 militants dead and more than 100 injured with the security forces and civilians who have taken their weapons against the militants.

“17 foreign fighters who got killed have been moved across the border (Pakistan)” he said, adding that 107 other terrorists have also been wounded during the clashes.

He highlighted that the militants have been retreated and there is not much confrontation now.

According to reports Afghan National Army also used their helicopters to target the insurgents.

10 days ago hundreds of insurgents attacked Dangam district in eastern Kunar province after civilians took their weapons against them.

In this ten day long attack insurgents put on fire dozens of the civilian houses in the areas they held.

A Specific number of the government forces and civilian casualties are not cleared yet.
