Armed Taliban Launch Massive Attack In Kunduz

MEP: The armed Taliban launched attacks in several high strength in Kunduz city strangled war to the gates of the city, local officials said.

Amaruddin Wali, Kunduz provincial council member told the Middle East, the Taliban had attacked the city of Kunduz since last night.

Clashes between the armed Taliban and security forces continue apace on the outskirts of the city, and the security forces are trying to repel the attacks, he said.

Kunduz provincial council member is optimistic that the security forces have the ability to push back Taliban and there is no danger of collapse to the city.

Meanwhile, local sources in the city say the war is now heavily ongoing in Khan Abad port, Kabul port, Se Darak, Zarkharid and Charkhab and the sound of light weapons and gunfire can be heard.

Sources also say that the highways of Kunduz – Takhar and Kunduz – Baghlan have been closed on traffic and in parts of the ways the armed Taliban have created checkpoints.

Local government officials did not provide details about the attacks so far and casualties involved in the attacks is also unknown.

The opposition group also confirmed the report.
