Asian International Railway Inaugurated In Turkmenabad By Afghan And Turkmen Presidents
MEP: The very first Asian International Railway of “Akina-Imamnazar” during a special ceremony in Turkmenabad area of Turkmenistan was inaugurated by Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow on Monday.
Ghani during the ceremony, stated that the opening of the railway, has many benefits for both countries.
He said the railway indicates lasting and based friendship between the two countries and is a credit to Afghanistan’s future by Turkmenistan to the people and government of Afghanistan.
Mr Ghani added the relationship of Akina with Asian international rail network is an important step in the creating of Asia’s largest economy and all the more used and its benefits are further.
President Ghani also said that the railway to reduce the price of gas and oil imports from Turkmenistan will be useful and Turkmenistan has become a connecting point area.
“Afghanistan intends to base all of its provinces to a major economic and transportation base from Turkmenistan,” Ghani noted.
In his turn, the Turkmen President Berdimuhamedow said the inauguration of the railway is a major achievement that could play a key role for the traders, specifically the oil traders as modern equipment have been installed in the port.
He said his country is trying to further secure Afghanistan by implanting other projects including the construction of roads, hospitals and other infrastructure programs.
The terminal can hold around 500 tons of trade commodities and will be a big success for the oil traders.
