Civil society groups express concerns over insecurity in Mazar-e-Sharif
KABUL: (MEP) – Civil society groups in Mazar-e-Sharif expressed concerns over insecurity, less participation of women and the possibility of fraud in the upcoming elections.
Civil society groups gathered in a conference organized to emphasize the importance of holding a transparent election and concluded that security threats, less participation of women and the possibility of fraud in the upcoming elections have an impact on the transparency of this process.
In this conference, civil society activists in Mazar-e Sharif raised questions on how they can have a fair and transparent election.
Razz Muhammad Dalil, head of Hakim Sanayee organization said, “The important point that the members of this conference have emphasized is the influence of women in the election.”
Members of this conference shared their ideas on how will women be able to vote for their preferred candidates, ariana news reported.
Some civil society activists also believe that most women in the remote areas especially in villages do not have the right to vote and receive voting cards. Even, men force women to vote for their favorite candidate.
These civil society activists emphasized the role of women to vote for the presidential and provincial council election and consider their participation to be very important.
