Construction Work of Kabul New City Agreement Signed
KABUL: (Middle East Press) An agreement was signed on Tuesday for the New Kabul City which would be built on 1,700 acres of land in the Dehsabz district of Kabul and Barikab town of Parwan province.
Officials of the new Kabul project board said that all project information is shared with the President and he is also committed for implementing that.
Advisor to the president, Yousof Pashton said, “There are still problems to be solved in this project that needs more time”.
According to Engineer Elham Omar Hotaki, Deputy of the new Kabul project board, the Kabul New City is almost two times bigger than the current city of Kabul, where 600,000 residential houses would be built and was designed for three million people that its implementation delayed due to some problems.
Engineer Elham has signed a contract with the ministry of communication and information technology to build the city’s telecommunication system.
The new city will be built on 240 square kilometers and the construction work of Kabul New City has been estimated to be around $80 billion, where the private sector would have a major role in terms of financing the construction work.
