DABS revenue increased with $2 million

KABUL: (MEP) – The revenue of Da Afghanistan Brishna Shirkat (DABS), the national power utility, has had a significant increase in its revenue as compared to past year.

The 2 million dollars earned more than the last year would be used for the development of electricity networks in the country, said Wahidullah Tawhidi, head of DABS public relations.

The electrical waste has declined from 36 to 23 percent, he said, adding this has caused increase in the revenue of the national electricity company.

“Our revenue has increased with 2 million dollars and we will use them for the development of electricity in the provinces and remote areas.”

Meanwhile, he complained a number of government departments had not paid their electricity bills, owing millions of dollars to DABS.

“We have a number of government departments owing us millions of dollars such as ministries of agriculture, public health, higher education and other departments like oil and petroleum directorate, pensions department and many others.”
