Deadly Explosion In Kabul Supreme Court Kills 21, 45 Wounded
MEP: At least 21 people have been killed and 45 others wounded in a deadly suicide bombing outside the Supreme Court in Kabul city on Tuesday.
Nine women were among the victims, according to Kabul police.
The attack took place between the entrance and the parking of the court compound.
Most of the victims have been transferred to Wazir Akbar Khan hospital.
Eyewitnesses said the powerful explosion shook nearby buildings and caused substantial damage in the immediate area.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility behind the blast.
Meanwhile, The US and the United Nation Security Council (UNSC) have condemned the terrorist attack.
“We have our eyes on Kabul today, following the tragic suicide bombing that killed at least 21 Afghan civilians,” White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer told reporters at his daily news conference.
“We condemn this cowardly attack in the strongest possible terms, and we commend the Afghan security forces for their rapid response,” he remarked.
“We also reaffirmed our support for the Afghan government as they work to defend their people and against enemies of peace,” Spicer said.
