Direct fire killed NATO soldier in eastern
KABUL: (MEP) – NATO soldiers NATO soldier was killed following militants attack in eastern Afghanistan, the coalition forces in Afghanistan announced, (KP) reported.
NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) following a statement confirmed, “An International Security Assistance Force service member died following a direct fire attack in eastern Afghanistan today.”
The statement did not disclose further information regarding the exact location of the incident and nationality of the deceased soldier.
NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) generally do not disclose identities of the NATO soldiers killed in Afghanistan saying, “It is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.”
least 3,348 foreign soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan since the US-led invasion of the country in 2001, according to the website icasualtis.org which tracks NATO troops casualties in Afghanistan.
At least 99 NATO soldiers including 75 US troops, 6 British troops and 18 soldiers from the other NATO member countries have been killed in Afghanistan since the beginning of 2013.
