Explosion Hits Police Vehicle Killing Three In Baghlan

MEP: In the wake of the explosion of a roadside bomb in northern Baghlan province, three policemen were killed and two others wounded.

Amirgul Hussain Khel, Baghlan Police Chief Security Officer told the Middle East Press, the blast happened at around 10:00 am on Saturday in Hajda Kotal area of Pul-e-Khumri city.

He said the incident took place when police vehicle was going towards security shell has been targeted in the already embedded Taliban roadside mine as a result, three policemen were killed and two others were injured.

Hussain Khel added that police Ranger vehicle was also damaged in the blast.

Meanwhile, Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman, wrote in his Twitter account that a Ranger vehicle was targeted by roadside bomb and a number of police forces have been killed and wounded.

In recent weeks armed Taliban activities increased and concerns of the citizens also raised over poor performance of Baghlan security forces for the suppression of terrorism.

According to another report, a result of a roadside bomb blast targeting the Afghan National Army Ranger vehicle in “Qala” area of Chapa Dara district of Kunar province, two Afghan National Army soldier was wounded.
