Explosion in Kabul Left Several Injured

KABUL: (Middle East Press) A heavy explosion shook capital Kabul on Sunday afternoon leaving a number of security personnel and civilians injured.

Officials in Kabul Police Department officials said the incident took place in the 12th district of Kabul city.

The officials further added that that a vehicle of the Afghan security forces was targeted in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in Ahmadshah Baba area.

Hashmatullah Stanikzai, spokesman for Kabul Police Department, confirmed that incident and said at least 11 Afghan army soldiers and 3 Afghan civilians were injured in the blast.

Stanikzai further added that the injured individuals were shifted to the hospital.

No group including the Taliban militants has claimed responsibility behind the attack so far.
