Five Suicide Bombers Killed In Kandahar Police Base Attack
KABUL: (MEP) Local authorities in southern Kandahar province say that five suicide bombers before reaching goals have been killed by security forces in Spin Boldak district.
The incident occurred around 2.00pm Monday afternoon after five suicide bombers equipped with suicide vests along with a vehicle reached to the fourth battalion of border police.
According to reports, one suicide bomber initially detonated his explosives and then the other four attackers tried to enter the gate of police base.
Heavy clashes erupted between the attackers and security forces in which all of the attackers were killed.
Security sources including police in the province have confirmed that the security forces gunned down the attackers in less than 30 minutes.
The provincial police commander General Abdul Raziq said, the armed confrontation left two Afghan security personnel dead and seven others wounded.
Taliban insurgents claimed responsibility for the attack.
