KABUL: (MEP) At least eight members of a single family were killed after a group of unknown gunmen attacked their home in eastern Nangarhar province, local officials said Monday.
The incident took place Sunday night in their home under mysterious circumstances in Mirza Qala village of Behsud district, according to officials.
One survivor, Parwiz said eight members of his family were killed by three men who had been staying with them at the time.
“Among the dead are my nieces, sister and brother-in-law. They were killed by three men who were guests in the house. These men fled after the shooting.” Parwiz added.
Police have launched investigations to find the perpetrators.
The head of the family, Yousaf originally from southeastern Paktia province, had been living in the area for the last five years, according to the governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani.
