Haqqani Group Rebels, Suicide Attacker arrested in Khost
KABUL: (MEP) – The local authorities in eastern Khost province of Afghanistan said a suicide bomber who was looking to target Khost provincial security chief was arrested by Afghan security forces.
Provincial governor spokesman, Mubarez Mohammad Zadran confirming the report said the suicide bomber was among the five suspected militants from Haqqani Network who were arrested by Afghan intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) forces.
Mr. Zadran further added that another suspected militant who was involved behind the car bombing that left three Afghan intelligence operatives dead, was also arrested.
He said the suspected militants were arrested in separate operations during the past two days.
The national directorate of security (NDS) following a statement also confirmed that a suicide bomber was arrested along with another suspected militant in Khost province, khaama reported.
The statement further added that the detained bomber was recognized as Agha Mohammad, and the bomber has confessed that he received suicide attack trainings in Miranshah tribal region of Pakistan.
NDS also added that the bomber was looking to carry out car bombing in Maidan Wardak province.
