Haqqani Network suicide bomber arrested in Paktia

KABUL: (MEP) – Afghan national security forces arrested a group of four Haqqani Network militants along with a suicide bomber in eastern Paktia province of Afghanistan.

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) following a statement said the group was involved in coordinating terrorist attacks, explosions and suicide bombings in Gardez city.

NDS in its statement further added that the group was plotting to carry out a suicide attack,before they were arrested NDS operatives.

According to NDS officials, the detained militants have confessed that they were involved behind a number of terrorist attacks in Paktia province, and were plotting another attack in this province.

Afghan intelligence operatives seized 2 improvised explosive device (IEDs), 9 RGP rockets, 3 hand grenades, 1 mortart shell and various other types of explosives from the detained militants, NDS said.

The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report so far.
