Two Dead, Eleven Injured In Maimana Explosion
KABUL: (MEP) At least two people were killed and eleven others sustain injuries in a remote-controlled bomb blast in Maimana city, the capital of Faryab province.
Sayyed Masoud Yaqubi, a spokesman for Faryab police told MiddleEastPress, the blast took place at around 10:10 am on Wednesday near the gate of Kabul Bank in Lodin road of first security district in Maimana city.
“The explosive materials were embedded in a bicycle,” he said, adding that an university entrance exam was held in the province and the target of the attack was to disturb the exam.
The injured were immediately shifted to the hospital and the governor and police chief of Faryab, while visiting the injured have donated blood to them.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
