Increase seen in almonds production in kuduz

KABUL: (MEP) – Almonds harvest level in Kunduz has increased substantially this year in comparison to the last year, BNA reported.

A press source of the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation said, totally the area which covered by almonds trees reaches to 3700 hectares of land and each 2000 m square of land approximately produces 350 kg of almonds.

The Ministry of Agriculture during the current year distributed pesticide for 11150 gardeners that played the main role in increasing of production of almonds in that province.

Also, new orchards which covered 74 hectares of land newly constructed and more than 35 hectares of old orchards were technically reconstructed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation which are the other factors for the increase of almonds in Kunduz  Province.

Almond is among the important items of exportation which brings huge income annually for the country. T. Suraya-Yarzadas
