India Expands Training of Afghan National Army

Kabul: (MEP) according to reports the Defense Minister of India said that India will expand the program for training of Afghan National Army, reported (BNA)

He made this remark when an Indian civil-military delegation recently visited Kabul.

The Indian Defense Minister after returning of the delegation said that for strengthening of the Afghan National Army after 2014, India will take effective measures in order to further strengthen Afghan Security forces.

The Indian Defense Minister clearly stated that the program covers training of anti-terrorist operations, internal military training, preservation of intelligence information, combating the explosive materials, military aid at the battle front, creation of intelligence courses, learning of English language, dispatching of military physicians, training of Afghan military pilots and training of technicians for helicopters for the Afghan National Army.

The Indian mixed civil-military delegation visited Afghanistan while the Indian Foreign Minister earlier said that India is not at that level to assist Afghanistan with arms. However, the military analysts say that Indian delegation’s visit to Kabul removed ambiguities about that country’s aid to Afghanistan.

Recently Indian Defense Ministry has stated that a 10-member Afghan military delegation will visit India very soon, to discuss the relevant issues with Indian side.
