Investigation team providing report from Samangan event

KABUL: (MEP) – An investigation team led by the Deputy Independent Local Organs director said it was seriously investigating an incident during which several protestors were killed and wounded when a demonstration turned violent in northern Samangan province.

Deputy Director of the Independent Local Organs, Dr. Farid Mamondzai said his led team met with a number of the protestors’ representatives and provincial officials and discussed the tension between police and protestors.

He called a peaceful demonstration the right of the people, but said the demonstration should not be misused by some malicious circles and turned violent.

He said the civil campaign should not be led to undermine the people normal lives and properties.

Hundreds of people took to the streets to protest against the ruling governor, Khairullah Anosh in Samangan province, where they asked for his setting down.
